The HPC Chair of the University of Évora is a R&D infrastructure (based at the University of Évora), endorsed by Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and involving a consortium of European higher education institutions (7), research centres (3), enterprises (11), a CoLab, and a public organisation. The Chair has a research team of 22 scientists and two graduate students.
The Chair is driven by the Astrophysics Group that manages the ENGAGE SKA research infrastructure at the University of Évora and has its own supercomputer facility: the OBLIVION supercomputer and the ORION cluster. OBLIVION was acquired for data processing associated to SKA.
